So yes, I was part of the insanity that is Twilight and New Moon. Last night was no exception to that insanity. After discovering these books a good while back, I have done nothing but count down the days to this movie…The book was fabulous and I don’t care to admit how many times I have actually read—er re-read— the book–all of it, let’s just say I really know my stuff on it. So, last night we (as in myself, my sissy, and several of my awesome girlfriends I work with) hit up the theater for the 9 pm showing of Twilight–which was as exciting for me because even though I know this movie line for line and again, will not admit how many times I have seen it, I have not seen it on “the big screen”–that’s right, I was a normal girl living a normal life when this hit theaters in November 2008. Now, I am not as normal….ok, let’s just face it, I am delusionally obsessed with anything and everything remotely related to this series. So, I got to see it on the big screen and I was not disappointed. Edward is even finer when he is 10+feet tall.
ha. After that, the moment we had all been waiting for…drum rolls ensue…yes, New Moon. Oh.My.Edward was it FABULOUS. I loved it. I thought it was perfect, they kept all the main key points and I thought the CG Animation was brilliant. I loved everything. I don’t think I would have changed a thing about it. I like the soundtrack played through some of the scenes. My heart ached each time we had to see Bella screaming in her bed from a nightmare…sadness. Jacob was really spotlighted of course in this book and I really enjoyed seeing more of him and his transformation. He was amazing. I almost want to be team Jacob, but who am I kidding..I read the books, I know who gets the girl
. The Wolf Pack was not to disappoint either…those boys did an amazing job. I loved them all! I don’t think I have one bad thing to say about any of it. It was funny, it was touching, it was sad, it was emotional, it was…perfect. It was all I hoped it would be. My favorite part (s)–I had a hard time narrowing it down– I think would be 1) when Jacob transformed in front of her for the first time, 2) when they had to cast the vote and 3) when Jake and Edward started to fight and she stepped between them and told them that neither of them could fight without hurting her…aw my heart! I am even more excited that I have tickets to see it again on Sunday! YAY!!! This is one I will be watching over and over and over again when it is released on DVD. What a fantastic night!

Ok, so it’s not London, it’s Charleston, and the beer wasn’t Boddingtons, but it did the trick and a good time was had by all and Charleston will here in be referred to as London in the rest of the post, because…well, it’s my blog, my post and I make the rules! This weekend I was lucky enough to get to go to London with my BFF (see prior entry titled Happiness for pic of said BFF). It was a girls weekend, just me and her. We had a blast. We had dinner, wine, desserts, pedicures, cooking classes, and our fair share of a bad smell that wafted through the air for some reason—i think London has too many horse and carriage rides—this weekend we were total foodies. We tried new foods, local brews, drinks and loved every single second of it. From a roasted pumpkin squash with marscapone cheese and a pured pork and pumpkin filling, fried green tomato BLT, crunchy french toast, to the best lobster bisque and hush puppies around, we ate and ate and though we stuffed ourselves to near sickness, it was awesome!! And we walked it all off, i promise! The food was amazing. The crunchy french toast at the Sweetwater Cafe is high on my list of recommendations–what better way to start your day then some french toast, dipped in frosted flakes and then fried up and covered in syrup. Moving on, we had the nothing less than amazing Lobster based bisque at Hyman’s Seafood that was so good we went back a 2nd time for it. This bisque was amazing if I have not said that already. Creamy, yet not too heavy and packed full of scallops and shrimp–both locally caught! The hushpuppies they serve you will leave you begging for more and days later you will be sitting in your office wishing you could bite into one right now and dip it in a little butter…now, where was I….Ah yes, let’s not forget the perfect way to end your day, or take break in the middle of and stop in at Kraminsky’s for a HUGE piece of cake or a nice fat slice of pie and a Charleston Steamer. What is a steamer—only a tall cup o’ heaven. Steamed milk and we had the toasted marshmallow which tasted exactly as the name says and drizzled with a bit of caramel. It was Heaven I tell you, pure Heaven. Charleston is a food lover’s haven. There is so much local flavor and flair in everything. From the rice used at our cooking class, which was grown locally and the veggies and fish, all local…to the scallops at dinner–everything so fresh! Now onto more than food! The slave market was packed each day and we managed to buy a few items. They have some great things there, especially the sweet grass baskets–it amazes me how they make them. They are really lovely….and pricey, so no, one did not make it home with me this time. The Spa pedicure we had was beyond words…we had rose petals and bubbles and oil in the water, we had a mud mask for our feet, we sipped mimosas as we were softened, clipped, filed, and painted. It was great. So relaxing and my feet thanked me several times over…it was like they were just walking on little pillows of air, well, until we left the spa and back outside where we walked a while and then they just hurt again..lol….I could go on and on about how much fun we had. This was such a fantastic weekend and I cannot wait to have another girl’s weekend again! And we have officially decided our name would be BFFoodies….clever girls we are…. so, here’s to London baby!

Is being with your very best friend, laughing at anything and everything! Aside from my husband… this chick makes me happy to my core. I love everything about her and her sweet little family! Feels like we have been the best of friends all our lives! There is nothing better than having a true best friend in your life who you can laugh with and cry with and by saying just one phrase, you can both bust out into laughter to the point of near tears.

It’s like a tropical vacation in your mouth that makes you close your eyes and think Florida Keys….Key Lime! I love this cupcake and it by far seems to be the most popular flavor I make. It seems like it is the most requested cupcake on the list right now! It is sweet and tart at the same time…plus you get the traditional graham cracker “crust” with it—I just sprinkle it on top. It is so good and summery. How could you not love it!

How good does this look? I love the White Chocoloate Raspberry cupcakes because their flavor is so delicate, yet it makes your tastebuds happy! You taste the raspberry, you taste the white chocolate, then you taste the raspberry cream sauce it is filled with and it makes you think you are eating a giant truffle or bon bon –it is just so good. I think they may be my personal favorite!

This was my husband’s brilliant idea —and no, I am not being sarcastic this time—it truly was a brilliant idea! What is better than a cupcake…and an oreo? That’s right…a cupcake with an oreo INSIDE of it!

That’s right! Sam is officially a Bobcat (which is the school mascot). Today was the first day of school. He was beyond excited to be there! He looked so grown up with his book bag on and all ready to go! He even took the teacher a present for the first day! Of course it was a cupcake…not just an ordinary cupcake though. It was a Cookies N Cream cupcake with an oreo inside the cupcake! mmmm! I hope it got to her in one piece! We dropped him off a bit too early today I guess and his teacher was not there yet, so we had to send him to the media center to wait with the other kids. But I know he got to class ok.
It still kinda ruined my first day for him. I totally lost it in the car, I won’t lie. I hate that we did not walk him to his class and get him to his seat. On Monday, when he goes back, I will see if I can do that and take his picture with his teacher. He is so proud to be a “school ager” as he calls it. And I am proud of him as well. I cannot believe my baby–that seems like he was just born not too long ago, all 6 pounds of him and that precious, tiny, button nose–I cannot believe he left me. He went and had to go to school. He is on a new adventure and so are we as parents! I am sure he will excel in school. I have nothing but high expectations and I know he is smart. Now…I think that in a few more years, I will just demand that Emmy stay home and never go away to school or anywhere else. I just don’t think I can bear to send my last baby to school! I cannot wait to see Sam when I get home tonight so I can hear all about his first day at school! We are having a party in celebration, so we are excited about that too!

I love getting presents. That’s no secret. I love getting Twilight presents-ok, that may be a secret for some-but, it’s out there now. So, my friend Anna knows I love Twilight, and as I have said before, she should because she is who introduced me to it. So sitting at my desk the other day, I get a knock on my door. Who comes in you ask? Why, it’s Anna! And she is bearing gifts. Not just plain ordinary gifts—gifts of chocolate. But even better than just some plain old chocolate—this chocolate is wrapped up in sexy deliciousness that IS Edward Cullen. She informs me she found these treats at Blockbuster. Awesome, I have plenty of time at lunch to go purchase more! So, at lunch I go to Blockbuster and I look for them. There they are. Jacob, Edward, and Bella–all being nice and sharing one little box full there beside the M&M’s and Wonka Bars. I grab about 9 of them I think. There are 3 to a set, so I grabbed a few sets for some friends. What I had to do next was horrible. I HAD TO LIE. So, there was a teenage boy with his mom behind me talking about “how gay” Twilight was (yes, I kept quiet–it would be been impoliote and wrong to turn around and give death stares with his mom there) and on and on. I suddenly feel ashamed. I KNOW—anyway. I get to the register and the girl is like…OOh, you must like Twilight. I had to lie and say, oh no, these are for a birthday party. The girls all love Twilight and these are for the treat bags. OMG. That lie came to me so fast I never missed a beat. In the end, I walked out with my candies and I was so excited I had to bit Edward on the way back to work—good thing I grabbed an extra one of him. I just had to taste it. They are delish—kinda like a Cadburry Creme Egg you get at Easter. Yum-o! So thank you Blockbuster–thank you for supporting and encouraging my obsession even further. My set of Bella, Jacob and Edward chocolates by Skybar now sit with my collection of Twilight Conversation Hearts behind my desk at work for all the world to see. And when kids ask if they can have candy—I must inform them, that candy is only to look at, we never ever open it and eat it.
Oh–and ps—HUGE shout out (I know, who gives a Shout Out)–to Jenny Jerkface from Twitarded (blog on side of my page!)—I LOVE their (jenny jerkface and snarkier than you) site and now they have come to visit mine and have even left a comment! woohoo!

So, if you know me, you know that I am “unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him” (Bella Swan, Twilight-chapter 9, page 195).- Him would be Edward Cullen. Next if you know me, you know that I also love Cupcakes and everything cupcakey (I know it is not a word, deal with it!). So, what better than Twilight cupcakes?! I made these for a dear friend at work who was movin’ on up in the agency to bigger and better things-yes, she would only be one floor up now and not down the hall, but still–it was a big deal! So, on her last day I made her these yummy twilight themed cupcakes since she hearts EC as much as I do…if not more, since she is the one who introduced me to him-haha. So, these were for her and boy were they delish and I had so many wonderful comments on them! Enjoy!
